SINDHANAI SEI - TAMIL MOVIE REVIEW

If a movie or a song gains ample publicity thro' TV or print or online medium, naturally they become a hit .. On similar grounds, due to hyper telecasting of "Uchi meethu" song from Sidhanai Sei, I got impressed with it n decided to watch the movie ..

About the movie, its a thriller, its about 5 friends, how they plan for a bank robbery, how they succeed in it and what happens when they plan to share among them ..

The movie starts with Hero Yuvan who is shown as a poor jobless youth dumped by his newly married wife since he could satisfy her with money .. Soon after that, accidently he meets two of old school mates with similar state as his .. Since they dont hv a job, they start with small scale thefts and ends up with planning a bank robbery .. They seek help of their two other school mates who are co-incidently local petty theives ..

They stage a bank robbery and successfully execute it, thereby looting 5 crores .. But the movie doesnt end their .. The 5 friends decided to share among them, but since police started investigation, they plann to hide in different places individually while one among them has been assigned to take care of the entire loot for time being albeit every one has the intention to betray each other and romp away with the entire loot ..

Thereafter the movie goes what happens to the 5 people .. It is an interesting tale with lots of twists and suspense ..

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Strong and racy screenplay with no unnecessary comic interludes.
• Thaman S of Boys fame is the music composer .. BGM is particularly impressive and songs are equally good .. Ellamey Ellamey and Thappum illai are potentially super hit songs .. Has sung "Achamillai Achamillai" song .. Already songs of his other movies EERAM and MOSCOWIN KAVERI are picking popularity.
• Editing is another major plus.
• Telling Performance by all the lead characters, special mention to Bala (Azhagiya Theeye, Pattiyal), Nithish Kumar (Pudhupettai, Vennila Kabadi Kulu and Onbathu Roopai Noottu), Sabhi (Bheema).
• Twists and turns are plenty which holds viewer's attention.
  

MINUS:

• A sense of unnecesary crudeness adheres with througout the movie . It is evident in many scenes in the first half and also in "Naa Kaakinaada" song ..
• The movie doesnt have a rich look and the photography looks average ..
• First ten to fifteen mins of the movie is confusing ..
• No logic behind why the wife dumps the hero and the latter taking revenge.
• Second half predictable.

Yuvan not only acts but also takes care of story, screenplay, direction, chreography, lyrics ..

Overall a different attempt and impresses a lot ..

VERDICT: A must watch for movie lovers ..

Best ever Indepence day for me ..

Since before I started following European Club football intensely which started from 2007 season, I was ever an Arsenal rooter.. The Club is a superpower boasting talented youngsters which play attractive bewitching football .. The term "Superpower" should be considered as a past for the Gunners as its title contender tag disappearing every season since its almost 6 years they hv won a trophy, which is coincidently when sensational Cesc Fabregas arrived into the club .. Even though the club hv quality like the Arsenal Captain, they couldn break the title challenge and falter for the ultimate ..

As soon as the transfer window started for the 2009 - 2010 season, I expected Prof. Arsene Wenger to make some purchases for some positions which lacks quality which was evident from the previous season .. Arsenal finished fourth, a far cry of 15+ points from champions Manchester United .. Predictably, It started brightly, with former Ajax skipper Vermaelen signing for the club for 10mp .. It was a gud purchase considering the weak defence .. But soon after the imminent departure of King Kolo and C**t Adebayor, the media, the rivals, n the own fans teared apart the team even before the season started ..

Sterday was the opening day for the season with strong title challengers winning Hull to 2 -1 from coming behind. Also Rich Manchester City claimed an relatively easy victory .. Late night, the match btwn Everton and Arsenal kicked off at Goodison park, Liverpool .. So the pressure was high for the visitors and the whole world was watching how the Professor's kids wil cope up ..

Half way thro the match, I was not myself .. We were suprisingly yet deservingly three goals ahead with Denilson (I dont like him much thou) , Verminator, William Gallas scoring .. I couldn stop yelling, crying, clapping (it was around 10 pm n everyone at home were sleeping) .. I dint know tht time tht I had to preserve some more energy for more fireworks to come in the second half ..

Three more goals, a brace from Super Fab and Eduardo .. The "Fox in the Box" returned to EPL action and scoring after a year long lay off from injury .. It was a great display of attacking magical beautiful football from the gunners and I was so satisfied and proud tht they wil continue with the same intent .. So It was a special Independence day celebration for me .. Not alone for me, but for the entire Arsenal fans around the globe ..
